Breaking; Satsko’s serving up Pork Ramen!

Satsko Watanabe tasting Pork Ramen at Sake Bar SatskoOk, so it’s not really ‘Breaking News’ because I’ve been hearing it along the grapevine for a week & have even seen a Facebook status update or two regarding this matter, but Sake Bar Satsko (202 East 7th St. Previously reviewed here) will be offering up Pork Ramen Specials on the nights that owner, Sastsko Watanabe, is in the kitchen (not entirely sure of those yet, more later).

After her shift tonight, Satsko sat down to have a bowl of her latest creation & I was able to try some.  Note that this is NOT a full review, I just tried a little sample.  With that aside, the broth is light & salty (in a good way), more Rai Rai Ken than Minca. Flavorful, but not ‘I need my bed’ rich as Minca can sometimes be.  The real kicker here was a mysteriously spicy flavor; pickled ginger (I had to be told by another customer).  It’s really damn good!  Anyway, I’ll have to try the dish (or bowl) for myself & give my full review as I only tried a bite/slurp or two.  It’s nice to have a Ramen option at my favorite ‘hood bar!  Yay!

Update: Ramen review here.
