Food to Eat, an online food ordering service, has organized an East Village  food crawl to benefit bars & restaurants affected by hurricane Sandy this Saturday November 17th starting from 12-4pm.  a $10 ticket (available here) will get you access to 19 locations serving either free tastings or items at a discounted price & entry to an after party & raffle at Kafana.  100% of the proceeds will be going to the participated businesses (Eventbrite does charge an additional $1.54 processing fee).

Participating businesses include: Mercadito, Idle Hands Bar/That Burger Tent, Yaffa Cafe, Royale Bar, Cafecito & Sons of Essex.  A full list is available below.

FoodtoEat.com is a NYC based online food ordering and catering service. At FoodtoEat.com we focus on sustainability, offering similarly services as our competitors at a next to nothing price. Our hope is to eliminate the high costs these third party sites charge and keep our favorite restaurants open for everyone to enjoy!

Due to the recent impact of Hurricane Sandy and our relationship with the restaurant industry in NYC, we are putting together a fun filled “Food Crawl”event on Saturday, November 17 from 12-4PM. We are looking to not only draw people to that area and get these restaurants up and running but we want to create a positive and fun atmosphere for everyone involved!
Basically the event will go as follows:
  • Tickets can be purchased online or at a registration location (Evelyn Drinkery: 171 Ave C.) Ticket purchases will go into a donation pot which will be given to the participating venues and used towards their recovery efforts.
  • After a ticket is purchased “Food Crawlers” will receive a map of the participating venues. We are asking each venue to choose a specialty food and/or drink item, preferably seasonal, to feature the day of the event. Depending on the venue this item will either be advertised as a “free tasting” or offered at a discounted price. Food Crawlers will then hit up the venues for the next 3 hours or so.
  • From 3-4PM we will all meet at Kafana for an “after party” including entertainment and a raffle. This will give everyone a chance to mingle and enjoy a last bite to eat and perhaps a few more drinks 🙂
So join us for a fun filled booze & food friendly extravaganza!

Purchase Tickets Online  or at the registration location on the day of the event between 12 & 4PM!
(100% of the proceeds will be donated)
