Village Yokocho
It’s funny how a bit of misfortune can turn into a good thing. I had hoped to take my Mom to Ippudo on 4th avenue for some ramen, but the place was packed to the gills, so we headed east & wound up eating at Village Yokocho. Not ramen, but we ended up enjoying ourselves.
Casa Adela
Several years ago, I was going to Casa Adela once or twice a week for lunch. I don’t go as much anymore & I honestly cannot figure out why because the food there is excellent. This Puerto Rican restaurant is sparsely decorated with 6 tables nestled in between the service & storage areas. It definitely has a family feel […]
Making The Korzo Burger
You may have read my recent review of Korzo Haus (178 East 7th St. @ Avenue B), but I’d like to take a little time to talk in-depth about the Korzo Burger, a delicious deep fried cheeseburger that seems to be a favorite there. The menu changes almost daily, but due to it’s popularity, the […]
Korzo Haus
It’s been a while since I’ve talked about the work going on at the old Mohamed’s Falafel Star, so it’s about time that I reviewed Korzo Haus (178 East 7th St. @ Avenue B), one of the newer additions to East Village dining. Don’t let the exterior (which I really don’t care for) fool you, […]
Gemma
I’m always up for a free meal, so when my buddy Todd called me & said that he was going to Gemma (335 Bowery at 3rd street in the Bowery Hotel) on his boss’ dime, I didn’t hesitate. I’ve been wanting to go here for some time, I remember when the space was a filthy […]
Royale Revisited
Trolling along Avenue C & looking for something to eat, I decided to stop by my old haunt Royale (157 Avenue C @ 10th Street review here). I haven’t been there in several months & I wanted to see if there have been any changes there.
Lure Fishbar
I’m never one to shy away from trying a new restaurant (unless it’s out of my comfort zone –I’m talking to you Upper West Side!), so when I got an email from Tasting Table about a Late Brunch they were sponsoring along with Stella Artois, I jumped at the chance. Lure Fishbar (142 Mercer Street […]
Mõtek (CLOSED)
I really don’t spend much time on Saint Marks Place, so I was really surprised to stumble on Mõtek (125 Saint Marks Place at Avenue A). Mõtek serves coffee & sandwiches, but the real draw are the crepes; available in both sweet & savory variations. The place looks brand spanking new, but the guy behind […]
Bar Food At East Village Tavern
I recently went to East Village Tavern (158 Avenue C at 10th Street) for the first time a few days ago. It had been a French-Japanese fusion restaurant several years ago, but the space has been gutted & there is a brand new bar with a much more open feel. I was there for my […]
Brunch At VBar
Shortly after attempting to go to the Grub Street Food Festival, a friend & I spent ages trying to find a brunch spot in the LES, Schiller’s, Essex Restaurant & Spitzer’s Corner were all Ram Jam, so we ended up at Vbar (132 1st Avenue at Saint Marks Place)Bar. A complete disaster ensued. VBar is […]
